Privacy Policy — Dayvi
Last updated: 8 October 2026
Dayvi is a mood diary that can work together with Apple Health. Because a diary is personal, Dayvi is built to keep your entries on your device. This policy explains what data the app uses and where it goes.
The short version
- No account, no sign-in, no name or email needed.
- No ads, and your data is never sold or shared for advertising.
- The app does not track you across other apps or websites.
- Your content stays on your device and in your own iCloud backups.
Data that stays with you
Your diary entries — moods, emotions, notes, tags, photos and the weather for the day — are stored on your device. If you turn on iCloud backup, backups are saved in your own iCloud Drive. We cannot access them.
- Apple Health — with your permission, Dayvi reads data such as mood, symptoms, workouts and sleep to pre-fill your diary, and saves the moods and symptoms you log back to Apple Health. Health data never leaves your device through Dayvi: it is not sent to us or to any third party, and it is never used for analytics or advertising.
- Camera and photos — used only when you take a selfie or attach a photo to an entry.
- Face ID — if you lock the app, iOS checks your face or passcode. Dayvi never receives your biometric data.
Data that leaves your device
- Weather — if you choose automatic weather, your approximate location is sent to Apple WeatherKit to get the local weather. Dayvi asks for location only while you're using the app.
- Usage statistics, crash reports and purchases — handled by the services below. Analytics may include counts (for example, how many emotions an entry has) but never the content of your entries or any Health data.
Services we use
- Google Firebase Analytics — counts how features are used (for example, which screens are opened and which settings are changed), together with the device model, iOS version, app version and an approximate country derived from the IP address. It is linked to a random identifier created by the app, not to you. Google's privacy policy
- Google Firebase Crashlytics — if the app crashes, sends a technical crash report (what code was running, device model, iOS version, app version) so the bug can be fixed. Firebase privacy information
- RevenueCat — checks which purchases are active on your Apple account, using a random identifier and the purchase receipts Apple provides. RevenueCat never sees your payment details. RevenueCat's privacy policy
- Apple — processes all payments through the App Store. We never see or store your card or payment details.
These services receive only the technical data described above. We use it to fix bugs, keep the app fast and understand which features are useful.
What we don't collect
Your name, email address, contacts, or payment details. We never collect the text of your entries, your photos, or your Health data.
Children
Dayvi is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK, Australia or California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your data, or to object to how it is used. Most of your data never leaves your device or your own iCloud, so you can delete it at any time by deleting it in the app or deleting the app. For anything held by the services listed above, email us at sadnova.au@gmail.com and we will help.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
